Projects in the Japanese Industrial Township typically arrive with a corporate security standard set by the parent company abroad, and much of the work is translating that intent into a design that is buildable and supportable with equipment available in India. We document where the implementation matches the standard and where it deviates and why, which is what the group audit will actually examine. Beam detection, in most cases. In a high-bay warehouse a point smoke detector mounted at roof level is too far from a fire developing at floor or rack level to respond in a useful time. Optical beam detectors span the open volume and detect smoke crossing the beam path, which suits the geometry far better. The design also has to account for racking layout, because racking that changes after commissioning can obstruct beam paths that were clear on the day.
